Show Specifics & Development History

Confessions of a Mystic is a solo show featuring Cassia Eurydice Vail, a character originally created to be performed as a roving tarot reader character for events like Halloween parties, part of the entertainment services JiL of All Trades Media offers.

Out of the curiosity of exploring how this character could be explored in a more structured narrative form, the show began as a 10 minute interactive theatre piece, which was first performed at the opening night curated by Brushing Hands Collective of Promethean Theatre’s Fates Festival. Confessions of a Mystic was then developed into a 90 minute show, the first version of which premiered under the title Confessions of a Mystic: SLICE of Magic, infused with lore of the East Van Arts Scene.

Since the full length version premiered, versions of various lengths have continued to be created for specific environments including renaissance faires and art galleries. With constant revisions to suit the new places the show travels and lots of audience participation, no two performances are alike.
